Share Your World – February 27, 2017

Some great questions in this week’s Share Your World.

Ever ran out of gas in your vehicle?

I don’t drive.

Which are better: black or green olives?

Black. They’re regulars in my salads.

If you were a great explorer, what would you explore?

There are sooo many great places to explore on this planet! I’d like to see with my own eyes all the nice places that I admired on pictures. To answer something particular, something that could be quite feasible–castles and coffee shops of continental Europe.

Quotes List: At least three of your favorite quotes?

I narrowed my million favourite quotes down to four:

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

My willpower for keeping up with eating well and losing a whole kilo from the previous week.

I’ve got a week off work so I’m looking forward to more reading, watching TV and just chilling.

So nice of him to lend her his jacket so that she’s not cold. He’s a good boy at heart.

It had ter happen. Well, now it has, an’ we’ll jus’ have ter get on with it. We’ll fight.

I have blogged about my Pepper before.

She has given me a lot. Most importantly, she made me realise I was a cat person. I didn’t know I was a cat person for 33 years, until she decided she was going to live with us. Imagine had she never decided to come to live with us, I would have lived and died not knowing I was a cat person. That is quite something.

Also, if it wasn’t for her, I would not have known what great creatures cats are. Because they’re out of this world. Almost.

You’d better love me unconditionally. Or else…

Though I have to disagree with people who claim that cats want to take over the world. There’s no need for cats to plot world domination, because they already have it. They domesticated themselves on their own terms and they pretty much do what they want. Humans feed them, love them, pet them, take pictures of them and post them on the internet. We are practically their slaves. So there.

Some quotes about cats from Goodreads:

I would like to see anyone, prophet, king or God, convince a thousand cats to do the same thing at the same time.

Neil Gaiman

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Robert A Heinlein

If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.

Mark Twain

What greater gift than the love of a cat.

Charles Dickens

Finally, let me throw in some Star Trek:

Thirty-Five

I turned 35 two days ago. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be a milestone, but I don’t feel any different than last week when I was still 34. So much for that.

The weather was so mild on that day and I decided to walk from work again and got to see an absolutely gorgeous sunset.

The tower on the bottom picture belongs to the buildings of Strangeways prison–now officially named HM Prison Manchester, but still commonly referred to as Strangeways.

I also took a picture of a church tower but didn’t like it, so I inverted the colours and it ended up like this:

Quite suitable for All Saint’s Day, it seems.

It’s foggy outside and pretty cold–best time to stay indoors with a hot drink, a good book and a TV subscription.

Happy November!
