It has now been seven years since I started Some Photoblog.
Congratulations to me!
This is a blog post number 500.
I mark the occasion with a picture of my most used tag (aside from tags Canon DSLR, smartphone and Motorola)–trees.
Of course, it’s not strictly the 500th post as I have had a couple of reblogs, I think, but on the other hand I have deleted at least 20 posts, so it evens out pretty well, I’d say.
I’m now halfway to a thousand!
It’s now been six years since I’ve published my very first post, Hello Universe.
This time, I didn’t forget the anniversary.
I like this type of pictures for end of summer/beginning of autumn time. I just think they’re neat. That’s it. Besides, I have nothing at hand that I’ve got six of (not started collecting Infinity Stones yet, and I forgot to buy a pack of six eggs last time I went grocery shopping), so hawthorn it is. If that is what it is, at all.
I’ve turned to smartphone pictures more and more lately, ever since the pandemic, in fact. When I started Some Photoblog, I would never have dared to post phone shots, even as I didn’t have a DSLR camera yet. I used a compact Fujifilm camera back then. But smartphone cameras have got better in the last few years, and I have become more confident in presenting pictures taken with these devices as “real” photography. I never claim to be a professional, and it’s not likely I ever will be.
With all that, the past 12 months have not been bad, this year has proved especially productive. 2021 might just turn out to be the best year of Some Photoblog, let’s see!
I’ve been running this blog for five years.
The anniversary was on 2nd September and, as usual, I forgot. But because it’s five years (half a decade!), I still wanted to acknowledge it.
Here’s a picture of sunrise:
That’s a roof window, tilted horizontally.
I went from using a Fujifilm compact to Canon DSLR, to only smartphone pics. One day, I shall pick up my camera again, only I don’t know when. I’m, sort of, not in charge of the timeline here.
I’ve not been on my blog for a few days and so it passed me by that it was its birthday on 2nd September.
I get “dry” phases when I don’t post on my blog (because I don’t have anything to post, or I don’t know what to post or I’m too tired to post). This time around it’s not exactly the case as there is something I want to post about, only it’s more text-heavy so, as is ever the case with me and writing, it’s going to take me time to come up with the words.
Well that’s it, I don’t have anything else. Here’s my cat in a box:
Today marks three years since I started the blog.
I have had phases when I posted very little, but overall it turned out quite well.
The only reason why I hadn’t started blogging earlier was that I worried about running out of ideas–or indeed having ideas in the first place. It was when I came across the word “photoblog” somewhere that I was finally confident to set up one. Because I could just post pictures and nothing more and I had lots of pictures. I have since bought a new camera and got my own domain. And did a dystopian series.
Here’s today’s picture, taken yesterday:
I still worry about running out of ideas, I admit. I want to know, how do other bloggers feel? What made you start your blog and what about the blogging process do you find is the hardest?
It’s been a year since I published my first post Hello Universe. So I guess it’s happy b’day Some Photoblog.
