It’s here!
Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks.

This is what’s going to be like on Some Photoblog till the end of November, I predict.
I took so many pictures of autumn leaves this season, and now I don’t know what to do with them. So here’s yet another autumn leaves post–this should do until next year!
Foliage in Manchester city centre.
A little leaf that blew into my kitchen.
Litter covering the leaves in my local park. Occasionally I take pics of litter, whether it’s to showcase the ignorance of humankind, or something for my Random and Weird Phone Shots collection. Or both. Or in this case, the writing on the box. I don’t what the product is, whether it’s a drink, a snack, or perhaps a small toy, I just like its name. Of course, I’m a fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe (that has given us tons of stuff this year), and it reminds me of the scene in the first Avengers movie where Steve Rogers aka Captain America assigns everyone a task in their fight to beat the villains, when he turns to Hulk and says only: “Hulk–smash.” And Hulk smashes. It’s still remains a favourite of mine.
I decided to do a nice autumnal still life photoshoot this year (last time seen on Some Photoblog in 2018).
I thought the cover of Taylor Swift’s newly released album Red (Taylor’s Version) had the perfect autumnal colours, and the artwork for Evermore is also very autumnal.
Here’s some more pictures:
The page is from my copy of Anne of Green Gables, the one I found in a charity shop and that’s falling apart (the book, not the charity shop), which at least means I could use it for my photography. It’s the chapter with the famous October quote, and yes, it’s November but her conversation with Marilla is about autumn leaves, so it’s still relevant.
This year I’ve also discovered the joy of ambience videos on YouTube, like for example this one which I link here. Enjoy!
You know you can’t get enough of autumn!
I took so many nice pictures on my walk in Castlefield, Manchester, at the end of October, I couldn’t just keep them all to myself. Here I share them with you:
Hold an autumn leaf.
Throw it in the canal.
Goose eats it.
Asters in front of the Roman fortress. I wonder if they were there when Romans were there. Would a Roman centurion admire these asters, perhaps?
A setting sun. It never disappoints.
Today’s post is a response to Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge, which is Forty Shades of Red.
I have six, and they’re all from this autumn.
The first two photos were taken with Canon camera, the rest with my smartphone.
It was a Sunday and I decided it was time I gave my camera a good workout. I have been using my smartphone only to such an extent that I wonder if my Canon thinks I don’t love it anymore. This story here I wrote in January is no fiction, it really happened. Autumn is the time I enjoy taking pictures most, this blog was started on the second day of September in 2015. So, workout the camera got and here are the results:
The leaves have only just begun to turn so I hope there will still be more!
Quotes about hope are ten a penny. For this blog entry I picked two, both from popular series with the word “star” in the title.
I watch this office every day as I have for 40 years, believing one day others like me would walk through that door. That my hope was not in vain. Today is that day. And that hope is you, Commander Burnham.
Aditya Sahil, Star Trek Discovery S3 E1
Blockade Runner Pilot: Your Highness, the transmission we received. What is it that they’ve sent us?
Princess Leia: Hope.
Rogue One
America, you have done it!
