Random and Weird Phone Shots – Black Pant(her)

What are you wearing today? Chances are, if you work in a standard office:

blackpanther

Obviously, it’s a cinema ticket for Black Panther (which I saw a week ago, but it was too late to post it on that day and dammit, I said Random and Weird Phone Shots are a Thursday thing). See what I have become? This shit post proves I have completely lost it.

Black Panther might be a candidate for the movie of the year and it’s only February. I just want to mention something that occurs, well, something he says at the end, so here is when I say spoiler, if you haven’t seen it and want to–stop reading now.

In the first post-credits scene T’Challa (aka Black Panther) speaks at the United Nations and has this to say–paraphrasing here, so it’s not 100% exact: “Wise man builds bridges, fool builds barriers.”

I am in agreement, Your Highness.

Now, let’s get hyped for Infinity War!

Random and Weird Phone Shots Is Back

Yeah, it’s been a while. Five months since the last RAWPS post–hoo, I didn’t realise it really.

I saw this sign outside the Scribbler shop in Manchester. If you’re not familiar with this retailer, they sell cards, hence the Valentine’s Day thing.

Actually, it’s not that stupid. You should love yourself most of all.

You can also date your own self if you want. Which I’m kinda doing.

Bonus

It’s been 18 months since the first Random and Weird Phone Shot entry so here’s an updated pic. The trainers are still hanging there. They survived many a stormy weather, they’ll probably still be there after the world ends.

But that is a different story altogether.

How many of you have got the song stuck in your head now?

This is how we should resolve conflicts–with music! When rock met rap, or, if you can’t stop a wall being built, do a Steven Tyler and tear a hole in it. That part where he sings through the hole while Run and DMC give him that look is never not funny.

Legends.

Random and Weird Phone Shots – Is It Election Today?

Apparently so, but it makes no difference to me.

I am not allowed to vote in UK because I’m not a UK citizen. (True, I can vote in local elections, but whoever cares about that. Well, maybe you do if you’re a fan of Parks and Recreation but otherwise?)

So in UK, the way it works, Commonwealth citizens are eligible vote in General Election, but EU citizens aren’t. It doesn’t matter if you’ve lived here five years or fifty. That’s why the government is able to play us like a game of chess. We don’t matter.

Honestly, it never did bother me–how much difference does one person’s vote make anyway–until the 2016 Referendum. Then it very much bothered me.  You see, I have this issue with being denied a vote in something that will affect my life.

This snap election has a lot to do with Brexit, as we know. So I’ve been feeling kinda like this:

She can hear, she can see, but she cannot speak

I never take selfies, you know.

I decided I’m getting a pizza on Friday, regardless of the outcome. Pizza, not politics. Like I said before, Breakfast, not Brexit. I have nothing to lose in this, anyway.

So, if you’re here and you can, please don’t forget to go out and vote!

Since I started talking about eligibility to vote, I should also add that UK citizens that have lived in another country for more than 15 years lose their right to vote. I feel I need to mention it, because those British that live in EU countries are the same bargaining chips as us.

Random and Weird Phone Shots – Wheelbarrows

Today I’m pleased to share with you my phone camera pictures of wheelbarrows.

Wheelbarrows are awesome. Life just wouldn’t be the same without them.

wheelbarrow3

They are used in construction and gardening and enable people to carry heavy loads, which they otherwise wouldn’t be able to do. In short, they are damn useful things.

I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to wheelbarrows.

I dedicate this blog entry to my sister, who has special fondness for wheelbarrows.
