Hi. My name is Linda and this is my blog.

I believe the desire to photograph has always been in me but it wasn’t until the arrival of camera phones that it finally got out.

To get more serious about it, I bought myself a  Fujifilm compact and then in 2016 a Canon EOS1200 DSLR camera. I haven’t stopped snapping since.

When I started this blog in September 2015, I had no idea what I was doing with it. I have a slightly more of an idea now. This blog is still a work in progress and I hope you will join me on this journey.

My original tagline was All Pictures Must Be Taken, which was inspired by All Men Must Die saying from Game of Thrones. Later I changed it to Some Pictures Must Be Taken, which fits my blog title better and added Some Quotes Must Be Quoted, as quotes became a big part of the blog.

I mostly take landscape pictures, sunsets, skies, nature, the city, animals if they co-operate. Sometimes I try me a bit of still-life, which is something I definitely would like to do more of in the future.

I like taking pics with my smartphone as well and in fact have a category named Random and Weird Phone Shots. Read about how it all started here.

I’ve also done a series titled Gloomscapes, which was my attempt at dystopian/wasteland setting.

Other than that, originally I’m from Bratislava, Slovakia and have been living in Manchester, UK since 2003. I work 9-5 in the office and have a feline companion called Pepper. Cats are the ones that got it right in this world. They sleep most of the time, go anywhere as they please and let humans worship them. Clever creatures.

I used to take part in the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, before they killed it. Occasionally I throw in an entry about pop culture or current events.

Any post that contains a picture or pictures that weren’t taken by me is tagged not-my-pic. (This is usually something obvious, like a picture of a celebrity or a meme.) If you see any photo or image here that you think should not be here, please let me know and I will remove it.

Tags

I try to tag my posts as consistently as possible, though sometimes I just forget I’ve used a particular tag and then when I’m trying to tidy up the blog and look through the tags, I’m like “when did I use that?”
